It is known that the meaning of art is the production of topics through human activity created by a group of talented people who have the creative and innovative ability to express ideas and topics that influence others. Since art is a creative product based on stimulating the viewer’s thoughts, which is called the aesthetic response, therefore, works of art have a clear impact on a person, as they fill him with an emotional wave that caresses his feelings, arousing in him memories that give him latent joy, which is the energy that a person needs to endure life’s troubles, and stimulate... The desire for neglected joy´-or-to find what was lost in the signs of life and the acceleration of days. It is the beauty inherent in life, which the artist plays a major role in expressing through his artistic production. Beauty is a word that refers to the value of the things produced by those creative people, and art removes barriers between people. Because the work of art is a field of rational contemplation and a subject for questioning, deducing, discussing, and thinking about the artist’s relationship with society. Based on that, “TED HESSELBOM” adopted a new language to communicate social events, and this matches “Plato’s” saying that all the artist needs is to take a mirror and turns it in all -dir-ections.
Since the concept of beauty is personal and relative, and since art includes many other dimensions apart from beauty, as a psychological reflection and a way to inspire the viewer through that, I see that art according to TED HESSELBOM is a field of rational contemplation, critical action, and cultural stimulant, which confirms that the artist is a philosopher and historian. It documents a stage of society s life and raises issues about the nature of society at the stage it is contemporary with.
TED HESSELBOM s work includes new artistic forms intertwined with expressive media-;- Triangles, rectangles, and broad lines take intersecting´-or-overlapping positions, on a black background in most of the paintings, in addition to multiple figures and featureless faces of people at different ages, a reference from “TED” to different historical eras, ancient, contemporary, and future, which they place in a specific sequence in front of each collar. Collars appear to be a state of captivity and restriction for a person over time. They serve as an invitation to be freed from everything that restricts a person and makes him feel suffocated. Thus, the faces, heads, and bodies bound by the collar that the artist depicted are a symbol of all social restrictions. As those faces and bodies that appear incomplete, even though the viewer sees in some of them someone dancing, someone wearing a red dress, others who seem to be crying, etc., are all connected to their titles that contain a symbolic expression, they are like a space that the artist left for the recipient to see himself in through... His own interpretation of that symbolism-;- On the other hand, you find that this symbolism is compatible with specific paths that have the ability to give the recipient the freedom to derive from it the beauty and radiance of life away from all those restrictions that-limit- human freedom, despite the extremities of freedom, which in themselves are restrictions, because your freedom ends when the freedom of others begins and vice versa. Thus, freedom is a double-edged sword in the sense that it is another restriction.
The artistic works of "TED" are compositions of symbolic geometric forms: structures and spectra on a background of black color gradients, resembling a disguised alphabet needing to be explored. It is a clear criticism realized in a context of Faces without features.
"TED" has used vocabulary inspired by imaginations that express the depth of abstract reality of the constraints felt, calling for their elimination.
TED’s bias toward the aesthetics of expressive diagnosis with sad, satirical photography, in formulating its artistic works as paintings and models with the light gradation in some of those works and the black background, would not have separated its work from its goals as an artist in the search for his own plastic identity. The artist’s plastic identity is born from his conscience and from Its surroundings, with all its details of heritage, civilization, and history, are an essential focus for understanding the present.
Thus, the works of this artist can be read in terms of their breadth in dealing with issues, their convergence, and their intersection reflected from his depths, based on a symbolic narrative in which TED, the writer and researcher in history, and TED, the contemporary artist, express his concerns about unity and multiplicity. Like noise, stillness, point, and image, here the work of this artist who came from the throes of artistic modernity is evident to translate his character of aspiring to understanding and crystallizing truths through his journey of experimentation and diversification. Thus, “TED” used the symbol in his artistic works as a formula to express the idea that he wanted to convey to the viewer as a reflection of his artistic vision, which can be extrapolated in light of the nature of the symbol that he adopted in the collar models that match his ideas, as place and time are of special importance to him, Therefore we find it expressing a spatio-temporal experience through which he views space and time as two basic elements for formulating his ideas from which his artistic works emerged. Therefore, beauty standards sometimes differ according to the culture that prevails in the society in which the artist lives, meaning that it is a cultural commitment to the artistic work, that is, the vessel that contains´-or-Embracing the artist s message, and because “TED” and his artistic product are a reflection of the reality of society in place, time and culture-;- We can observe the richness of the artist’s ideas through analyzing the symbolic, aesthetic and philosophical dimensions that develop artistic perception and elevate the general taste of the recipient.
TED presented a new way for art to meet society. It can be seen that TED’s art is not-limit-ed to paintings by presenting models of his artistic works to become an event. This is different from the traditional concept of an art exhibition, giving the main focus of his artistic works, “the collar,” multiple shapes and styles, including aesthetic The element of movement that appeared clearly in paintings and models. TED derived the decoration and designs of his works from the basic shapes (triangles, squares, and circles), which enabled him to create different and varied designs of the same shape, whether by repeating it´-or-analyzing it.
TED’s thought can be observed and inferred through his artistic works, as they prompt contemplation as they contain new visions, as ideas are not generated from what the eye is accustomed to only, but rather from everything that the eye encounters, if it is looked at seriously and deeply and follows movement and inspiration. The artwork has strong, clear colors that attract the recipient s eyes-;- The main colors in these works of art are black and white, in addition to different colors, including pink, orange, and red. Certainly many people see that black is a sad and depressing color, but the truth is not so. Black is the master of colors and the most aesthetic if it is used in a way that serves the artist’s idea and the intended goal of it. behind that-;- Thus, “TED” developed new Configurations of his own. He presents his case with complete freedom, and his artistic Configurations suggest many visual formations. From here, “TED” was inspired by the subject of his artistic works and the use of shapes and colors with various pictorial treatments and configurations of their shapes and symbols, according to what I saw while watching these works.
"In conclusion, it is important to point out that TED is atypical and unconventional in the formulation of what it presented, which confirms His awareness and culture of what surrounds him . The works of this artist do not care about the aesthetics of form as much as they carry ideas that can be documented while not neglecting heritage. Rather, what distinguishes them is the strong connection to it because they stem from the cultural environment surrounding the artist. Here he is like a philosopher in his search for the truth, which confirms the depth of his awareness of what surrounds him as he presents His point of view on everything that restricts a person.
